This is a photo on the morning after the first frost that we had (which incidentally was also freezing at 20 deg F temp!).

Some plants still had the ice crystals that morning. Not long after that, the plants started browning and dying...

Most of the trees now are devoid of leaves, making it harder now to conceal our house from others. Good thing it is quite far from the road for us to still enjoy our privacy. Posted by Hello

It must be a time of wonderment, as the plants make way for the arrival of the cold season. And a miracle as the plants will be coming back after winter. (Hopefully I got it right, I've never experienced winter :-))

Hi Watson,
That is so true. When I came here, everything was wilting, brown and gradually became lifeless, save for some spruce, fir and pine trees. During winter, everything was white. When there was sunlight, it was so glaring, but often the sky was overcast, gloomy...depressing. When spring came, everyday I went out to check the appearance of new plants, the springing back to life of old plants. I was so amazed at the wonder of God's creation...everything looked fresh, as if bagong paligo ang mundo. I felt closer to the Creator...
